Justin Appleby

Overview

Mr. Appleby has several years of experience in data modeling, statistical analysis, research and editing, coupled with extensive experience in computer programming. Through his academic background and previous work experience, he has gained a thorough understanding of data harvesting, data modeling, statistical programming, statistical inference and the reporting thereof.

Mr. Appleby performs research, statistical analysis, programming and technical editing services for ValueScope, assisting in the compilation, analysis and reporting of relevant financial data.

As a research assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas, Mr. Appleby designed and implemented algorithms in R, S-Plus, C++, FORTRAN, and MATLAB for various social scientific and econometric research projects employing complex and computationally-intensive statistical methodologies. He developed data harvesting applications using languages such as PERL, PHP, BASH, JavaScript, and regular expressions. Further, he co-authored an open-source statistics package (MSBVAR) for the R programming environment that efficiently performs Markov-Switching Bayesian Vector Autoregression analyses of multiple time-series.

As a programmer at the Los Alamos National Laboratories, Mr. Appleby designed efficient and flexible software solutions utilizing the GNU compilation framework for the Weapons Neutron Research (WNR) center at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE-3). His work included the development of an automated system for data acquisition and statistical summarization of neutron phenomena and the redesign and reconfiguration of controlled experimental test environments.
