Mike Badescu, Ph.D.

Overview

Dr. Badescu has several years of analytical and research experience, providing financial valuation, transaction advisory and consulting services to publicly traded and privately held companies. Through his extensive academic background, he has gained a thorough understanding of financial economics and has successfully converted that knowledge into consultancy practice areas. His areas of expertise include microeconomics, finance, statistics, econometrics and applied stochastic calculus.

Dr. Badescu conducts valuations for financial reporting compliance, such as purchase price allocations, goodwill and intangible valuation, and impairment and fair value measurements. His transaction and advisory work includes due diligence, fairness opinions, structuring and valuing preferred and convertible securities, options and warrants, and estimations of economic loss in damages awards cases. Dr. Badescu assists clients with discount studies for interests in limited liability companies and limited partnerships. Additionally, he conducts transfer pricing studies and sensitivity analyses and prepares advanced statistical/econometric models and Monte-Carlo simulations to improve company profit performance.

Dr. Badescu was an assistant professor of economics at the Holy Family University where he taught classes on economic theory, financial accounting and financial management. He was also a graduate assistant, teaching assistant and instructor while pursuing a Ph.D. in business economics at Lehigh University. He taught courses in applied microeconomics, finance, economics and statistics. Also, while at Lehigh University, he worked as a research assistant conducting empirical and theoretical research in corporate governance and executive compensation. While in graduate school, Dr. Badescu worked as a consultant and software developer at Briton Eaton Wealth Advisors. He developed an Excel add-in for risk analysis and forecasting, which replaced a more expensive and less effective software application.
